Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • *600g chicken thighs, cubed
  • *1 cup plain yogurt
  • *2 tbsp garam masala
  • *1 can (400ml) crushed tomatoes
  • *3 tbsp butter
  • *1 cup heavy cream
  • *1 onion, finely diced
  • *3 cloves garlic, minced
  • *1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • *1 tsp turmeric

Instructions

  1. 1Marinate chicken in yogurt, half the garam masala, and turmeric for at least 20 minutes.
  2. 2Melt butter in a heavy pan. Cook onion, garlic, and ginger until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Add remaining garam masala and cook for 1 minute. Pour in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Add the marinated chicken and cook for 15 minutes until cooked through.
  5. 5Stir in heavy cream, simmer for 5 more minutes. Serve with basmati rice or naan.
