Churros con Chocolate

Ingredients

  • *1 cup water
  • *2 tbsp sugar plus extra for coating
  • *1/2 tsp salt
  • *2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • *1 cup all-purpose flour
  • *Oil for frying
  • *1 tsp cinnamon
  • *200g dark chocolate
  • *1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. 1Bring water, 2 tbsp sugar, salt, and vegetable oil to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a smooth dough forms.
  2. 2Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  3. 3Heat frying oil to 375F. Pipe 6-inch lengths of dough into the oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden, about 4 minutes, turning once.
  4. 4Drain on paper towels and immediately roll in cinnamon sugar.
  5. 5For the chocolate sauce, heat cream until simmering, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth.
  6. 6Serve churros warm with the chocolate dipping sauce.
