Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients

  • *1 pre-made pie crust
  • *200g thick-cut bacon, diced
  • *150g Gruyere cheese, shredded
  • *4 large eggs
  • *1.5 cups heavy cream
  • *1/2 cup whole milk
  • *1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • *Fresh nutmeg
  • *Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375F. Fit pie crust into a tart pan and blind bake with pie weights for 15 minutes.
  2. 2Cook bacon until crispy. Saute onion in the bacon fat until softened.
  3. 3Spread bacon, onion, and Gruyere evenly in the pre-baked crust.
  4. 4Whisk eggs, cream, milk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Pour into the crust.
  5. 5Bake for 35-40 minutes until set and golden on top. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
